Lunch and Chat

There is a much higher percentage of men who have had an ABI (acquired brain injury)than women. At our drop in, sometimes women want to be in a position to talk about issues that are gender relevant and want to talk about personal things with other women who they feel comfortable with.
Today we have a women's group in Headway ( No men allowed) and we are going out for lunch.
Our women's group have had so many interesting things going on. We meet once a month. The group have had a beautician demo and talk, healthy eating discussions, taking part in exercise, looking at a box of reminiscence objects from a museum, drumming experience, everything has been lots of fun and created a lot of laughter, sometimes we have just sat and talked and shared stories, often getting comfort and encouragement from each other,
We will have a good time together, a simple thing like just going out for a meal is so difficult for some people after an ABI, The noise, lots of people, being in an unfamiliar setting, are much easier when you can join a group of people who understand what you are going through and have similar issues
